Trash to Treasure

Some people can afford to walk into a store and buy the entire display. I am not one of those people. I have to shop, shop, and shop some more for the best deal. For me, this means I am often at thrift stores. However, these are the places I find the best one of a kind treasures. I have shopped this way now for almost 10 years. Most people do not buy items in thrift stores because they feel if it is at a secondhand store it must not be "in style". This is definitely a misconception. The motto "one man's trash is another man's treasure", is still true! The key is you need to know how to use it. This is an area I can help you.
My hobbie is to find the things most people would walk past, and use them in my house. I bought my coffee table at Goodwill for $9.00. It was an ugly color and had a big hole in the bottom. I saw it and knew I could do something to make it look good. All I did was cover it with animal print fabric and put two baskets underneath to hide the hole. I get comments on this piece all the time. Maybe you have a few pieces in your home that you think are eyesores. We can make these look like a brand new piece. Small changes can go a long way. You can find a picture of this piece in the previous post "Before and After Pictures of my Family Room".
